Community Awards Night 21st June 2021

Pride of Workmanship Awards

Presented to Sue Crawford by Mary Lockwood
Sue is the epitome of "devotion to duty", she always goes out of her way to deliver a service to rural people always with politeness, promptness and accompanied by her bubbly personality.

Present to Jeff Hamilton
Jeff was also a recipient of the Pride of Workmanship Award for his many years of “going above & beyond” dealing with passengers and baggage. He was nominated by Pamela Withington who found his service to be outstanding on her many trips from Taupo to Wellington. Jeff was unable to attend our awards night due to work so a group of Rotarians headed along to the Taupo Airport to present his award. Jeff’s family joined Rotarians for morning tea to celebrate.

Community Service Awards

Presented to Carol Lamb by John Williamson
Carol has tirelessly patrolled Taupo for a number of years collecting tons of rubbish from the wider Taupō area. Carol picks up rubbish from roads, reserves, walkways, paths, and the lakefront. Carol’s rubbish-laden bicycle and bright yellow hatchback have become common sites around the district making Taupō a tidier place to live.

Presented to Barbara McLaughlan by Glenda Griggs

Barbara has been the dedicated and brilliant pianist for AA65 singers since 2012. This singing group meets every Sunday to practice a new bracket of songs, which are then performed at concerts in many of the Taupo Rest homes and Retirement villages as well as groups of people with disabilities.

Rotary Charity Golf Tournament

Proceeds from our Golf Tournament were also presented. President Mary presents the cheques to Graeme Murphy of Riding for the Disabled and Robyn Ellis of Predator free Taupo.
